Surgery

We offer surgeries at our Temple House, Beeston and Headingley branches.

At our Beeston and Headingley branches we perform routine surgeries such as neutering, some lumpectomies and dental procedures.

High grade equipment and facilities at our Temple House branch, Seacroft, enable us to perform a wide range of soft tissue and orthopaedic surgical procedures for your pet, as well as accepting referral cases from other veterinary practices.

Facilities include:

  • two dedicated soft tissue surgical theatres and an orthopaedic surgical theatre
  • ultrasound and endoscopy suites
  • digital radiography (x-ray)
  • dental suite including dental x-rays

Soft tissue surgery (surgery not involving bones) performed at Beechwood Vets include procedures such as:

  • gastrointestinal surgery
  • cystotomy
  • perianal hernia repair
  • anal sacculectomy
  • urethrostomy
  • tumour/lump removal
  • thyroidectomy
  • wound management and reconstruction

We are also able to perform laparoscopic/keyhole surgery for a number of procedures, including bitch spaying, to reduce the recovery time.

Orthopaedic (surgery involving bones) surgery performed includes:

  • Cranial Cruciate Ligament surgery: Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteotomy, Cranial Closing Wedge Osteotomy, Lateral Suture
  • Patella Luxation: Sulcoplasty and Tibial Tuberosity Transposition
  • Fracture repair
  • Femoral Head and Neck Excision

We also have a certified physiotherapy nurse to help get your pet back up to speed following surgical procedures.
