Veterinary Dermatology

Dermatology involves the skin, ears, claws and anal glands and can be challenging for the pet, owner and veterinary surgeon.

Our team offers management for several conditions including:

  • Itchy skin (bacteria, yeast, parasites, allergies)
  • Hair loss (alopecia)
  • Recurrent ear problems (otitis)
  • Endocrinopathies
  • Immune mediated and autoimmune disease
  • Claw disorders
  • Anal gland disorders
  • Keratinisation disorders

Your initial consultation will last 45 minutes, where we will take a thorough history and examination. Tests may be conducted at the time, or your pet admitted for the day, to aid diagnosis and treatment. This can involve skin sampling for parasites and infection, biopsies, blood tests and serological allergy testing.

We explain all possible differentials and create tailored treatment plans for each individual case. Most skin cases are often lifelong meaning we will we work with yourselves to advise, manage and adjust treatment plans where needed.
